It seems as though Croyde becomes a completely different town in Autumn with its quieter lanes, a beach you can actually stretch out on and a tide that is just starting to get interesting. Lucky for us (and you) Weatherstone House sits right in the middle of it with its hot tub and pizza oven made for exactly this kind of golden, unhurried evening. Find out how the locals and returning guests like to spend the season.

It depends who you ask, but if you ask a surfer, they will most definitely tell you autumn is when Croyde really comes alive. Summer crowds have thinned out just as the Atlantic swells begin to build and the water is still warm enough for a paddle on a good day. Surf schools keep their lessons running well into the season for anyone wanting to learn or brush up, and the point breaks either side of the bay are at their best right now.
After a day spent enjoying outdoor activities in the crisp September air, there’s nothing quite like a sauna to unwind. All you have to do is step inside and let the warmth ease your tired muscles. It is important to take in a little time to properly switch off and reset before heading outside into the evening air. It’s the perfect way to round off a day by the coast at Weatherstone House - always followed, naturally, by a long soak in one of our three free-standing bathtubs, with something delicious to eat and a cosy evening in.

Autumn brings a different rhythm to Croyde: quieter beaches, invigorating coastal walks and Atlantic swells rolling into the bay. Weatherstone House sleeps up to ten across four ensuite bedrooms, with the hot tub warm and the fire going for evenings that come earlier than they did in July. It's the kind of place that asks very little beyond arriving. Enquire below, book your stay and let the coastal path, the tide and us do the rest.
